You are lactose intolerant. You love dairy products including ice cream, cheese, sour cream, and more. Unfortunately, the dairy products you want. Shortly after lunch that cheesy lasagna or a big bowl of ice cream, you begin to experience cramping, gas, bloating and diarrhea. These are the signs and symptoms that your body can not digest milk sugar or lactose. This is called lactose intolerance.

For your body to digest lactose, which requires an enzyme lactase. Babies are born with a large amount of lactase, but as you get older, the body often produces less lactase. Adults who produce less of the enzyme lactase deficient, and then they can not digest all foods that contain lactose.

You do not have to avoid the yogurt, because the bacteria actively digested most of the lactose in the product. Just make sure the yogurt with active yeast cultures.

There are many good products are sold as a tablet or liquid containing the enzyme lactase, and these often can prevent or relieve symptoms of lactose intolerance. Furthermore, several brands of milk sold in grocery stores contain lactase.
